Valli Schiller will present a workshop called “Doodling Around: Unmarked Free Motion Designs”.  Bored with basic stippling?  In this hands-on technique class, we’ll explore different ideas for free motion “doodling” using your home sewing machine.

See how simple shapes and squiggles can be used to quilt backgrounds, blocks and borders. No marking necessary requires darning or free motion foot for sewing machine. 6 hours, all skill levels.

Fee is $30 for members of NLCQG, $40 for non-members

See what you you need for the workshop in the Doodling Around supply list.

Valli’s bio from her Facebook page:

Valli’s love affair with sewing and design began at age 10 when she transformed a castoff chenille bedspread into a decidedly unusual angel costume. Many garments, costumes, curtains and quilts later, her passion for creating wonderful stuff out of fabric and thread continues.

Valli’s idea of a good time is experimenting with innovative sewing machine techniques and sharing them with others. In her quilting workshops, Valli’s emphasis is on teaching great skills while encouraging individual creativity.
