Do you ever dream of butterflies, when you’re asleep at night?
Or wonder what it’s really like to cruise the sky in flight?
Have you watched them in your garden as they prepare to land,
And think, ‘Wouldn’t it be wonderful to feed them from my hand?’
Do you plant those special types of flowers just to draw them in?
And decorate your garden pots with ones made out of tin?
And when you think of butterflies...do you see them as they are?
Or can you picture them as being funny or bizarre?
Like...what if they wore camouflage, and great big army boots?
Or flew upright in marching bands with saxophones & flutes?
Can you see them wearing poodle skirts, and swingin’ at the Hop?
Or how ‘bout sipping Latte’s at an insect coffee shop?
Just think, your Challenge Quilt can be as lifelike as can be,
Or make it wild and crazy ‘cause this is your fantasy!
Your quilt should be no larger than 3 feet on any side,
But after that, you’re on your own, no other rules apply.
Except of course, to keep your quilt a secret from us all,
Until they are revealed next April, so please don’t tell a soul!
Traditional or Artsy, Paper Pieced or Appliqué,
The choice is yours, the rules are few, you’re free to quilt away.
I hope this little poem will help you with your fantasy...
So sign up now, then bring your quilt next April for all to see!
